Update from the Roastery

Well it has been a while!! There has been a lot of changes at Pioneer Coffee Roastery since our last post and there will be more to come.............. for the better of course. Our roaster Miss Kate has continued to excel in her roasting. Kate is an amazing roaster, not only has she been able to perfect and improve many of our coffee's but she has also created her very own blend- "Katie's coffee" with which she won a Silver medal at the Australian CSR Golden Bean roasting competition 2010/2011 in the milk based section. Miss Kate also received a Bronze for her entry in the Australian category. We are so proud of Kate (although we think she deserved gold!!!) it is such an amazing achievement. At Pioneer we have slowly been updating the menu. We have now incorporated a lot of fresh gourmet salads which have been a huge success. You will see many improvements to the menu over the coming weeks and months and we are really excited about this. Next time you drop in for a coffee why not stay for lunch or one of our fabulous handmade cakes/slices. All our cakes, slices and meals are made by Elise & Greg @ Pioneer so they are unique.
Rhys has taken over as our Head Barista at Pioneer. Rhys is an amazing Barista and we are so thankful he is part of our team. Rhys has also enjoyed success placing 8th at the recent AASCA Barista Competition in QLD. Such a great achievement for someone on their first entry and we are so proud of him.
We are in the process of creating a facebook page. This way we can keep up to date with all our customers. It will also be used to let everyone know what we will be serving up for the day- both in food and coffee. So next time you are on look us up Pioneer Coffee Roastery Yandina.
